Para los que piensen irse en tren de San Diego a Montreal, aquí hay dos rutas, suerte!!!

Dear Ricardo Riemann,

Thank you for contacting us.
The only service Amtrak offers to Montreal, QC is a train that originates in New York, NY. For passengers traveling from San Diego, CA (SAN), the route is to take a train from San Diego to Los Angeles, CA, a two-night train from Los Angels to Chicago, IL, another overnight train from Chicago to Schenectady, NY and a train from Schenectady to Montreal. But the train from Chicago to Schenectady arrives too late to catch the train from Schenectady to Montreal the same day you arrive. You will have to spend a night in Schenectady and take the train to Montreal the next day. There is no checked baggage service offered on the train from Schenectady to Montreal.
Another route to consider is to take an Amtrak train from San Diego to Los Angeles and an overnight train from Los Angeles to Seattle, WA. You can take an Amtrak provided thruway bus from Seattle to Vancouver, BC the same night you arrive or spend a night in Seattle and take a train from Seattle to Vancouver, BC the next morning. Then you will take a VIA Rail Canada train from Vancouver to Toronto, ON and another VIA Rail train from Toronto to Montreal. You will only be able to check bags if you take the train from Seattle to Vancouver. The thruway bus does not handle checked baggage. We are not certain of the checked baggage service available on VIA Rail trains. Their phone number is 888-VIA-RAIL. Their web site address is
www.viarail.ca
To view these schedules and fares online, click on ‘Multi City Trip’ at the top of the Fare Finder section on our homepage. For the first travel segment, enter SAN as the departure station and SDY or SEA as the arrival station. For the second travel segment, enter SDY or SEA as the departure station and MTR as the arrival station. Enter the travel dates. Leave ‘Anytime’ in the time boxes. Enter the number of passengers. Click on ‘Next’.

If you prefer, information and reservations may be obtained by calling us at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245). Press '0' or say 'agent' to bypass the automated system.

Amtrak has a range of fares, based on availability. We sell a limited number of discounted fares daily. As a train fills up, the fare increases. We make reservations up to 11 months in advance. The earlier you reserve, the better your chance of getting discounted fares before they are sold out.
We hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,
Patrice
